Bacula
  |

Bacula is an open source networked backup system for Linux/Unix, Mac and Windows clients. Contrary to some other backup solutions Bacula uses a specific client application written for each operating systems you wish to backup - instead relying on either NFS or Samba. This makes sure that the file-permissions stored with the backed up files are 100% correct - and can be restored correctly as well. As part of the backend Bacula has a SQL database storing information about all the backed up files - this makes the information easily available and searchable. Bacula is designed for speed and is highly scalable. An additional bonus features is that you can create a Live Rescue CD that will allow you to restore Linux nodes from scratch. |
