PeaZip is a file manager and archiver for both Windows and Linux. It features an archive browser with history and search features to make navigating an archive faster and easier.
PeaZip extracts and archives but also edits, restores and creates the layout for an archive to speed up the archiving process or backing up. You can split files as well as join them and integrate them in the Windows Explorer context menu. The program allows you to convert archives and has secure file deletion, archive encryption, byte to byte file comparison, random password and key file generation and more. You can even customize the interface, including the color scheme and icons.
PeaZip is very user friendly so that a novice can easily use it but an expert will appreciate the archiving tools. You can drag ZIP files onto the interface and PeaZip decompresses them. If you drag a regular file it will open the archiving screen. The buttons are plainly labeled and the functions are simple.
Each of PeaZip's interfaces has option tabs with pull-down menus, text boxes to set the level of compression, radio buttons, dictionaries and even encryption options. It is easy to set your preferences with all these choices.
PeaZip can save you time, too, as it lets you convert, create or extract multiple archives simultaneously. You can create archives that are self-extracting, bookmark folders and archives and use the multiple search filters on the contents. PeaZip also features secure data deletion.
The formats supported be PeaZip are for creation: 7Z, ARC, BZ2, GZ, *PAQ, PEA, QUAD/BALZ, TAR, UPX, ZIP. And for extraction: ACE, ARJ, CAB, DMG, ISO, LHA, RAR, UDF and many more file formats
